The Heart

What has shaped me

My work is shaped not only by my professional training, but by many years of supporting people through body-based therapies, hospice care, community work and women’s groups. These experiences have taught me that healing is rarely a linear path, but often a gentle homecoming to oneself.

At the heart of my work is a belief that we do not need to be fixed. We need space to be heard, witnessed and understood with compassion for all that has shaped us.

Foundations of this work

As a counsellor and somatic trauma-informed therapist, with a degree in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, trained in a range of bodywork modalities, and experience of nature-based and shamanic practices, I have developed a deep respect for the intricate connections between mind, body and spirit.

Through my work, I have seen how our experiences can live within the nervous system and how the body may hold stories that are difficult to express in words. I believe that trauma often needs a compassionate witness before it can begin to soften, and that healing can emerge when we are met with curiosity, presence and acceptance.

Roots and Values

Throughout my life, nature has been my greatest teacher and sanctuary, shaping both my personal and professional understanding of connection and wellbeing. I believe that grounding ourselves in the natural world can offer the stability and spaciousness needed to explore our inner landscapes.

My connection to spirit, and to something greater than myself,  has also been an important anchor throughout my life. It has helped me find meaning and remain connected during times of uncertainty and change. I do not believe there is one way to understand these experiences; each of us finds our own relationship with spirituality, meaning and the wider mystery of life.

For me, healing often involves building bridges: between mind and body, our inner and outer worlds, the practical and the sacred, and the person we have been and the person we are becoming.

This work matters to me because I value the courage it takes to be human. I am committed to creating spaces where our stories can be met with dignity and respect  where all parts of ourselves are welcome, and where healing can unfold in its own time.
