About Copan Moire
I’m Sarah, the person behind Copan Moire, a space that grew predominantly from my own path of healing. My work is rooted in a deep belief that healing is not only about cognitive understanding, but also about how we reconnect through the body, the heart, and something deeper within ourselves.
I bring together trauma-informed practice, body-based healing, and gentle spiritual wisdom in a way that feels grounded, accessible, and free from jargon or dogma. This approach has been shaped not only by my professional understanding of trauma and healing, but also by my own lived experience of navigating sexual trauma and physical abuse; finding a path towards reconnection, resilience, and inner wisdom.
I speak about healing and spirit as naturally as I speak about everyday life, creating a space where evidence-based practice and quiet spiritual wisdom sit comfortably side by side. I don't ask anyone to believe anything; I simply invite people to explore the space where somatic science meets the deeper wisdom held within ancient traditions.
Why Copan Moire?
I first came across the name in the late 1990s, when I read Brian Froud’s Good Faeries Bad Faeries and the Gaelic story of the Fairy Queen. In the story, the Fairy Queen appears holding the Copan Moire, the “Cup of Mary”, in the form of a limpet shell. The cup holds the world's wisdom, which the Fairy Queen offers to share, inviting the women gathered to drink from it. Some laugh, some turn away, but others stay and drink.
When I first read the story, I knew the name meant something to me and that one day I would use it for my work. Nearly thirty years later, that time has arrived.
The limpet shell has come to hold its own meaning for me. Its shape speaks of both grounding and reaching upwards, of strength, resilience and the ability to hold on. Most importantly, it represents the wisdom we carry within ourselves.
Copan Moire is not about me holding the answers or passing wisdom down to others. It is about creating spaces where we can listen, learn and remember together, drawing on the wisdom within ourselves, each other and the rich traditions that have come before us.
For me, the name is a reminder that wisdom is not always something we need to seek outside ourselves. Sometimes it is already there, waiting to be heard.
